I have to admit that this article makes me realize that I haven’t explored my city that much in 14 years. I’ve been running for two years now and I haven’t visited half of the places mentioned in this post. I would not run the downtown route as it is probably a pain to be with so many people who are shopping and walking on side walks. But, I think I really should plan to use the Lachine Canal, climb the hills of Mount Royal, visit parc Maisonneuve and Lafontaine.
All right, I’ve looked into it and my next long run this Sunday will be on Lachine Canal. I’ll start around Parc des Saules in Lachine and I’ll jog for 13 km, all the way to Peel Basin. then I’ll turn around and come back. Why Peel basin, it’s because it’s a place I came across while running Montreal Half Marathon last year. I’ll have a camelbak with iced water, a banana, possibly some Gu gel.
